Concert Memory
I saw Poco in Atlanta at the debut of Alex Cooley’s Electric Ballroom, featuring the then state-of-the-art quad sound system that really did sound great. This was not too long after Richie left the band and I kind of expected to be disappointed, but was wrong as wrong could be. They absolutely kicked ass. I’m a musician and a pretty hard critic but they blew me away that night. Every harmony, guitar solo, and drum fill was perfect. The guy running the sound system was like another member of the band-he never missed a cue. I was most impressed with Rusty’s musicianship, and also the fact that George played flawless drums while hitting every high harmony part the entire night. They were hitting on all cylinders. The crowd was very supportive and seemed to like Tim’s singing the best.
