Concert Memory
After thinking that Poco had once again ridden off into the sunset, they reappeared in ’92 and managed to play a Northern California date. My wife is responsible for me catching Poco this time. Our son was born four days earlier but she insisted I make the 3 hour trip to see them. I had a chance to talk with Rusty before the show and learned that they were headed for the Catalyst in Santa Cruz the next night. He also shared that Tim Schmit was forming a new band with Max Carl of .38 Special. Unfortunately, that venture never happened. The set was good with the debut of ‘Old Hat’ which gave me chills, even without the keyboards that would grace The Sky Kings version.
