Concert Memory
I don’t remember too much about the 1981 Greek Theatre show, but I did have a 110 instamatic camera with me and took some really bad pictures during their set (again, which I still have somewhere). I remember my friend, Larry, who was a Little River Band fan, was blown away by Rusty Young’s lap steel and slide guitar work, and that he had to admit they blew LRB off the stage. The thing I remember the most though, was this girl sitting next to me was really, REALLY getting in to one of Rusty’s slide solos and was saying, just loud enough for me to hear, “Deeper! Harder! Faster!” over and over while Rusty was tearing it up!. Larry and I were cracking up. In retrospect, one of us should have helped her out, I guess, but we were too young and naive to do anything about it. It still cracks me up to think about it.
