Concert Memories

I saw Poco in Pittsburgh on June 20, 1993. I don’t recall the venue, but it was not the I.C. Amphitheater as listed in the index, nor was Dave Mason the opening act. The I.C. tent was/is located on the Monogahala (spelling) River, while the venue where I saw Poco during the 1993 tour was along the Allegheny River in an area called the North Shore. I don’t recall there being an opening act and it was an outdoor show. Rain eventually caused Rusty to discontinue the show after about 14 songs. The I.C. tent would not have been troubled by rain. Poco did play the I.C. tent on the Legacy tour and I saw them there. Again, Dave Mason was not the opener, but some local act opened. Steve CastoThe show was at a club/restaurant along the Allegheny in the Strip District across the river from the North Shore. If I remember the name of the place I will follow up. The club was a boat anchored to the shore. They had a small barge tied up in the river and we sat in folding chairs on the paved “riverwalk/courtyard” area. As Poco played, it began to rain. My wife and I had brought umbrellas, so we sat there as the rain increased. Then there was a loud thunderboom. Rusty looked up and said something like “That’s it.” and the band scrambled off the barge. I mentioned it to Paul Cotton recently and he laughed nervously as he said he remembered it well. Dave
