Poco now exists only as a trio. Sundrud leaves to form Great Plains. Poco stays together for only a handful of live dates and decide to do them as an acoustic trio, so Grantham’s services are not required. These are dates that were apparently promised by their management for the previous year. When the opportunity arises to play some shows in Japan, Poco chooses to take drummer Gary Mallabar with them instead of Grantham.
